A little over a month ago, developer MixedBag announced Futuridium for PlayStation Vita. And now, it's also coming to PlayStation 4, rebranded as Futuridium EP Deluxe.
"We just couldn’t ignore such heartfelt appeals, and so after some help from the amazing European PlayStation team — and some wizardry (read: programming and boring stuff) — we can now announce that Futuridium EP Deluxe is coming soon to PS Vita and PS4, exclusively," MixedBag co-founder Mauro Fanelli announced on the PlayStation Blog.
For those unfamiliar, Futuridium is described as a "fast, old-school shooter" inspired mainly by the 8-bit classic Uridium, though there's a hint of Zaxxon as well — low poly-counts, tons of fullscreen post processing effects, and things of that nature. In the game, you pilot a lost starship with a depleting energy bar. You face endless waves of giant space dreadnoughts, and must destroy blue energy cubes to refill your tank. The goal is to earn as many points as possible to top the different leaderboards.
To give you a better idea, MixedBag has released a gameplay preview from the PS4 version.
And because we're all obsessed with it: Futuridium on PS4 will feature 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, "cool" DualShock 4 features, "even more dazzling" visual effects, shared leaderboards with the PS Vita version. Oh yea, and it's a cross buy title meaning if you buy the PS4 version, you'll also get the Vita version as well.
