In Sunset Overdrive you can play as a female. Alternatively, you can play as a male. Heck, you can even play as a male dressed in female clothing. Insomniac Games chose to reveal this nugget of information in the most hilarious of ways too — at the expense of Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed.
Now Sunset TV host Brandon Winfrey didn't exactly call out Ubisoft for the decision to not allow playable female characters in this fall's Assassin's Creed Unity. Oh no, what Insomniac Games did was so much more clever.
Winfrey gave an honest answer when answering the fan question "Can you play as a female character?"
"Of course. Self expression is super important to us. So you can be female, you can be male. You can be different skin tones. You can be different body types. And all of the clothing is gender neutral, so if you want to be a dude in a skirt, you can be a dude in a skirt. Just be who you want to be," he said.
Ah yes, be who you want to be — even a female assassin.
So for those of you itching to play a female assassin this fall, I guess Sunset Overdrive will be your only way; although, it's unclear if this outfit was designed solely for the purpose of this video or if it'll actually be available in the game.
