Bungie has released a new video teasing "EVERYTHING" you need to know about the upcoming Destiny beta. Well, not really. The new video actually offers us no new information — at least nothing we haven't already heard before.
"You'll use the menus in the game to go and try different things in the world of Destiny," explained community manager David Gague. "You'll be able to be competitive. You'll be able to experience the story. There will be cooperative activities. And you'll get a taste of what it's like to be a citizen of The Tower overlooking the last safe city on Earth and investing in things that'll make your Guardian more powerful."
Again, no real details. Nothing but a general overview of the upcoming beta. We still don't know the max level cap, how much of the game will be open to us, or any of that. But while Bungie has been coy in sharing details regarding the contents of the beta, a leaked memo allegedly sent to GameStop managers has revealed it could include four story chapters, four competitive multiplayer maps, a cooperative Strike, and a "huge" world to explore.
Destiny's beta will open on PlayStation platforms this Thursday, July 17. Bungie will then open the beta up to Xbox gamers on July 23. The beta is scheduled to end for all platforms on July 27, presumably marking the last time you'll be able to play the game until its official launch on September 9 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.
