1-in-3 Vita owners also own a PS4

Sony's efforts in marketing the PlayStation Vita as a key part in the PlayStation family appear to be paying off as a new report from IGN claims that a full 1-in-3 Vita owners also own a PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 reciprocated the favor, with its launch leading to a significant rise in Vita sales as well.

Of that, 250,000 gamers have tried Remote Play, one of the Vita's key selling points.

For those unfamiliar, Remote Play is similar to the Wii U GamePad's functionality. It allows you to play PS4 (or PS3) games directly on the PlayStation Vita handheld. By wirelessly transmitting data from the console to the handheld, it frees up your television for other uses, like watching the latest episode of American Idol.

Although Remote Play was offered for select PlayStation 3 games, it wasn't until the launch of the PS4 that Sony fully embraced it. As a result, just about every PlayStation 4 game — except for ones that use peripherals like the PlayStation Move — supports Remote Play. The three biggest games using the feature, however, are Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, NBA 2K14, and Don't Starve.
