100,000 Diablo 3 beta invites sent to North American players

If you live in North America and are eagerly awaiting one of those coveted Diablo 3 beta invites, you may want to check your Battle.net account.

Blizzard has recently sent out 100,000 more beta invites to North American players who have opted-in to participate in the beta, but you must check your Battle.net account as Blizzard will not be sending an email invite notification.

Please be aware that with this large wave of invites we expect there could be an increase in the number of phishing attempts. Some unscrupulous individuals send out falsified emails purporting to be from Blizzard, but are in fact meant to steal your login credentials. For more information on how to identify these emails please refer to our Battle.net Security site. One easy way to ensure your invite is legit is to avoid clicking on links in any invite emails you receive, and instead log in to your Battle.net account and see if you have a Diablo III beta license attached. If there’s no license you can be sure the email you received was not from Blizzard.

Don't lose all hope if you still haven't received an invite.  Blizzard promised to continue to give away beta invites in the form of promotions, contests, and giveaways.  More information about this will be detailed in the coming weeks, according to their most recent blog update.

For those of you now in beta, congratulations, and don't forget to use the Beta Feedback and Beta Bug Report forums.
