MESQUITE, Texas – June 4, 2002 – QuakeCon
2002, the definitive fan-based gaming convention, will play host to more than
just the ultimate LAN-fest and party this year as the Blitzkrieg hits the
Mesquite Convention Center on Aug. 15-18, Mesquite, Texas. For the first time,
QuakeCon 2002 will be home to both one-on-one and team-based tournaments
boasting a combined $100,000 in cash, provided by ATI, QuakeCon 2002’s title
sponsor.

ATI’s Return to Castle Wolfenstein Team
Tournament QuakeCon 2002 is starting early this year; 64 teams will begin six
versus six online qualifying rounds on June 17, with the top 16 teams advancing
to the double elimination tournament at QuakeCon 2002 to compete for $60,000 in
cash, including a $25,000 first prize. The first-come, first-serve registration
for the qualifying rounds will commence at 10 p.m. EST on June 10 and conclude

ATI’s QUAKE III Arena Championships at
QuakeCon

For the second consecutive year, the world’s
top players will battle head-to-head in the only QUAKE III Arena tournament
officially sanctioned by id Software.

The frag-fest begins at QuakeCon on Thursday,
Aug. 15, as 256 players square off in the ultimate deathmatch experience. With
$40,000 on the line, including a top prize of $20,000, the competition will be
nothing short of epic. First-come, first-serve registration for ATI’s QUAKE III
Arena Championships at QuakeCon will begin at 10 p.m. EST on June 14 at
