Hide and Shriek just feels like the perfect game to play at Halloween. It is a 1V1 scare game where each player collects points while scaring the crap out of the other player by laying traps, using spells, jump scares, and diversions. Each player is invisible, and the object of the game is to figure out where your opponent is by using the traps and by observing the environment around you. If you happen to notice doors flying open or objects flying through the air, chances are, it's your opponent.
Hide and Shriek's Game Director, Romain Amiel had this to say about the game's release:
"There is something that happens when you know it’s not the game that’s controlling the jump scares, it’s actually another player. That unpredictability is what fuels the intensity in the game, and when you combine that with trying to stay hidden and not being spotted by the other player, it makes for a really involved game experience."
