Last night,as part of a celebration surrounding the 10-year anniversary of the Mazda3, the newly redesigned 2014 Mazda3 hatchback was shown off via a stream on Xbox LIVE. The Xbox LIVE Mazda event featured the first public showing of the car, which continues with an "evolution of the Kodo design language found on the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda6."

And now for the performance side of things: "Mazda will offer two engines to start with the possibility of a diesel powertrain later on. The first is a SKYACTIV 2.0L four-cylinder capable of 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Second option is a higher-powered 2.5L SKYACTIV four-cylinder capable of 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque." I don't know what any of that means, but I presume it's good on gas — which is all I really care about.
