20th Century Fox reveals Avatar 2, Alien: Covenant release dates

20th Century Fox updated their film release dates yesterday, including an announcement for the upcoming Alien: Covenant.

Alien, in a move that is contrary to the trend in film, actually had its release date moved up several months to May 19th, 2017. James Cameron Avatar sequel looks like it may actually be happening as its listed date is December 21st, 2018. It will supposedly be the first of four sequels, bringing the total film count to five with the original.

Another important note is that Marvel added two more untitled slots in November 2nd, 2018 and Valentine's Day February 14th, 2019. There are now four total untitled films for Marvel with March 2nd and June 29th both in 2018. The Deadpool sequel is going to be one of these, and possibly even the Gambit standalone film if its ever made. Despite multiple reschedules, the film is still slotted to release at some point with production rumored to start this Spring.
