Team Cherry, a studio manned by three, has brought a Metroid, Zelda 2 and Faxanadu inspired game to Kickstarter. I brings an interconnected world, classic styles and a story that will have you saving a kingdom.
The game has a $35K goal on Kickstarter with plenty or rewards (incentives) for you to become a Backer. Oh, and it looks pretty great (at least in my opinion).
The 2D action- adventure game, Hollow Knight, has you take control of the 'Hallow Knight' itself. In Hollow Knight you traverse the depths of Hallownest, an ancient kingdom buried deep underground. The caverns have been empty as of late, villagers and explorers have yet to return from their travels. There's a poison spreading that causes them lose their memories and that causes cavern creatures to go mad. The Hollow Knight will bring a solution to this pressing issue, but it will not be easy.
The world in Hollow Knight is huge and complex. Everything is connected and the creatures that live there aren't setting out to be your friend. Find shortcuts, weapons and abilities to save the kingdom.
