Incredibly well-received 2D metroidvania Touhou Luna Nights is exiting Steam Early Access today and to celebrate this milestone, the game is being sold at a nice 20% discount until March 5th. You can grab the game over on Steam!
Early Access games are plentiful but among an ocean of mediocrity and broken promises, true gems manage to emerge from time to time. Touhou Luna Nights definitely belongs to that category. After an unusually short tenure in Early Access, starting last August, the full version of the game is out now.
While it is a 2D search game similar to Castlevania, the game can easily progress without the insistence of repeat elements or collecting items. This has resulted in a spectacular game born from the game production skills cultivated by Team Ladybug.
And I personally want to highlight the beauty of the anime sprite. You can see the attention to detail the creator put into not only the leading character’s movements, but the effects and enemy characters.
Developed by niche Japanese studio Team Ladybug, Touhou Luna Nights has managed to cement itself as a hidden gem in Steam’s vast library of games. Sitting currently at a mighty-impressive 97% positive user reviews, any fan of action games or metroidvanias owes it themselves to check it out. It also helps that the game is sporting one of the most beautiful pixel art currently on offer. Just see for yourself!
Exiting Early Access is just the start, as the developer has promised to add new game modes and improvements in future updates.
After Ver. 1.0, we plan to continue updating the game, with additions such as achievements, Boss Rush, and extra stages in which a certain special someone for whom players have been waiting makes an appearance.
