2K Sports throws in the glove, does not renew MLB 2K license

2K Sports will not be taking the mound in 2014 with another MLB 2K title, according to the publisher.

"We have decided not to renew our MLB 2K series for 2014,” a 2K representative told GameInformer. “We are very proud of the achievements made by the MLB 2K team and look forward to their contributions to our future titles, including NBA 2K – our industry’s #1 rated and #1 selling basketball franchise.”

The publisher has removed all traces of the series from their website, including the MLB forums, and has deleted the Facebook pages of series’ past games as well.

Unless Microsoft has found a new home for baseball, Xbox One and Xbox 360 will be without a baseball title in 2014.
