Today, LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced three new games in their LEGO Legends of Chima video games. Legends of Chima is a new range of LEGO toys set in a mythical land inhabited by magical animal tribes, like the Lion, Eagle, Gorilla and Crocodile. The Legends of Chima products were just announced, and they include construction sets, vehicles and TV content. The three video games planned for LEGO Legends of Chima will provide an entirely unique experience that complements the products.
The first of the three games is LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz, which is playable today on LEGO.com and released on iOS devices tomorrow, January 3. Produced by TT Games and 4T2, Speedorz is a racing mini-game where players race against famous Chima characters, battle through iconic Chima locations, and unleash powerful boosts. There's unlockables and rewards to customize your characters.
The second of the games is LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey. It is developed by TT Games and is being released in summer 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita. In Laval's Journey, player "embark on an amazing adventure into the world of Chima where the brave warrior Laval and his allies are called upon to fight for justice. It's not known what type of game it will be, but you can expect some touch controls and an action-adventure feel from the description.
The last game is LEGO Legends of Chima Online, a free-to-play, online world developed by WB Games Montreal. Players will build and customize their kingdom in the world of Chima, explore massive environments, uncover secrets and treasures, earn rewards, build weapons and take on missions to help Lavel and his friends. One of the goals is to "provide kids with a safe and incredibly immersive connected game experience."
According to the press release, all of the games are connected and share a reward system called The Chima Vault. "The Chima Vault, which houses an exclusive reward system, will be accessible to players on LEGO.com/chima. While playing LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz and LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey, players will be able to earn points. These points can be redeemed through the Vault for a variety of unique content that players can use to enhance their experience in LEGO Legends of Chima Online."
