Last week AMD decided to include an image of Halo 3 in a mix of game art for the launch event of their latest GPU, the RX Vega. The use of Halo 3's art sent the internet hype train in motion, fueled on rumors of Halo 3 or Halo: The Master Chief Collection getting a PC port.
Recently, 343 Industries’ community manager Brian Jarrard, who is known as ske7ch in the Halo subreddit (WCCFTech) shot down the hope of Halo 3 hitting PC or getting an anniversary version.
“I’ve been here just about 6 months now and haven’t ever heard of one single mention of Halo 3 coming to Steam nor Halo 3 anniversary being made, ” he said. “In fact, it’s been completely debunked multiple times over. Sorry to say but there’s no plans nor any work underway to make this happen. (though personally I can’t deny it would be sweet).”
Sure, AMD using Halo 3's art could have been a mistake and could very well be an accident related to Halo Wars 2 making its release within the last two months. However, Jarrad only shot down Halo 3 – not The Master Chief Collection… The hope lives on.
