Of all places Microsoft could pick to reveal the opening cinematic for Halo 5: Guardians, they chose Buzzfeed. While I still have yet to move past that notion, 343 Industries certainly has. The developers have been hard at work bringing the next installment of the Halo franchise to life (with plenty of tweaks) and have decided to give us an inside look at the game.
The 'First Look' at Halo 5 from 343 is short, but sweet – it covers a bit of the game's campaign, characters and co-op gameplay, all while giving us a look at the game.
According to studio head Josh Holmes, "There's a human drama at the core" of Halo 5 that explores how the Blue Team and Osiris Fireteam relate to one another. The franchise Development director at 343 Industries, Frank O'Connor, gave us a bit of insight on the game's setting saying, "We have deliberately put ourselves in a world that isnt black and white, that isn't fully understood that there are simple good guys and simple bad guys."
Again, this First Look doesn't offer much – but it does give us a look at the game and let's be honest here, it's some pretty footage.
