Despite the rumors that 343 Industries is developing Halo 2 Anniversary, the developer insists they are too busy working on Halo 4 and have denied rumors that an HD remake of 2004's first-person shooter is in the works.
OXM UK first suggested the idea, claiming on their rumors page of the latest issue: "Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary."
343 Industries oversaw the production of 2011's Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary which was developed by Saber Interactive.
As reported by CVG, 343 Industries has said: "We are not working on that at this time. We are kind of busy."
No doubt they are busy working on Halo 4 which they say is currently in "super crunch time". As of the latest update, the campaign for Halo 4 was playable from start to finish with some levels being "near complete". Halo 4 is set to release on November 6, 2012.
Updates from 343i have showcased new Halo 4 multiplayer footage including the Infinity Slayer mode.
Microsoft didn't offer any additional details, adding only that their "focus right now is on developing Halo 4. Beyond that, we do not comment on rumors or speculation."
