343 Industries shows off Halo 2: Anniversary’s Relic map

With a recent patch to Halo: The Master Chief Collecting havingĀ "normalized and improvement matchmaking and the in-game experience for the majority of fans," 343 Industries has decided to show off new screenshots of incoming Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer map, Relic.

The new map, fully remastered and running at 1080p/60fps will arrive in The Master Chief Collection as a free content update, but it's not clear when. In a status update today, 343 Industries' Dan Ayoub acknowledged that the developer is running "daily playtests on Relic to hammer on the map as much as possible."

"As we finish things up, we'll be sharing much more and providing details on launch dates soon," he promised.

In the meantime, we've got a batch of screenshots comparing the Remastered version of Relic to the classic version. As you can see, it's quite a difference.

In the same post today, 343 Industries also revealed the first official screenshot of Halo 3: ODST. The game's campaign will be released for free to players who have played The Master Chief Collection prior to December 19 as an apology for the game's horrid matchmaking experience.
