5-year-old boy discovers massive glitch in Xbox LIVE security

A young boy from Ocean Beach has discovered a way to log into Xbox LIVE accounts without using the correct password. Let me repeat that, he was five years old.

Five-year-old Kristoffer Von Hassel discovered a way to bypass Xbox LIVE's security in the simplest of ways. When he typed in the wrong password for his father's account, it went to a password verification screen. From there, all he had to do is type a few spaces, hit enter, and he had full access to his dad's account. After discovering the workaround, Kristoffer's father reported the glitch to Microsoft who then rewarded the boy with four free games, $50, and a year-long subscription to Xbox LIVE.

"We're always listening to our customers and thank them for bringing issues to our attention," Microsoft said in a statement. "We take security seriously at Xbox and fixed the issue as soon as we learned about it."
