50 Cent’s 7-year old son made executive decisions on 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

Rapper 50 Cent was once more than just a musician. He was the main character in two video games: 50 Cent: Bulletproof and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. The two games published by THQ (rest in peace) were third-person shooters with very over the top plots and shootouts, frankly, I have no idea where the idea for a 50 Cent video game came from but… they happened!

They weren't great games and there may be a reason for that, 50 Cent's 7-year old kid was basically an uncredited producer. Speaking with Edge, Blood on the Sand production director Ian Flatt told the story of meeting his new boss, the son of 50 Cent.

"There was one milestone where our guys had to fly over to present the build to 50 Cent and his management team. He wanted his son, who was about six or seven at the time, to be the person who would review the build and decide if it was any good."

"So he played it and was saying, 'I love this, I love this, it’s great! But I want a level with helicopters in!' Our guy explained it was a third-person shooter and didn’t have helicopters in. But 50 Cent’s son said, 'No, I want helicopters,' and 50 Cent turned around and said, 'You heard him. Make a level with helicopters in.'"

And thus, the inclusion of helicopters and even cars in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand would be implemented into the final build, even if it was a nightmare to do it.

"We had to get cars working and bumping into each other; make AI that would fight you while driving; create audio for engines and collision sounds. [It required] a huge amount of mechanics and work just for small sections of gameplay that were completely useless for the core shooter part," Flatt said.

Now we know why 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was so bad, because "Fiddy's" son has bad ideas. We're kidding, he was 7 and helicopters are badass, who could blame him?
