A Final Fantasy VII Monopoly game has been announced

Final Fantasy VII is a beloved classic by fans of the iconic JRPG series. It's considered one of the best games of all time by many due to its great story, gameplay, and characters. Fans have been chomping at the bit to play a modernized version of the title on their new fancy consoles and Square Enix officially confirmed a PS4 remake that will rebuild the game from the ground up with new mechanics and gameplay that will come out… eventually. Fans can ease their hunger with a port of the original game on PC and PS4 while they wait but if that doesn't help level your excitement, something else may.

Introducing Final Fantasy VII Monopoly! Yeah… I know. I guess Square Enix needs to fund the remaster somehow! The new spin on the classic board game will release in March 2017 because it takes a lot of time to make board games like this and will let players live out their dreams of becoming a Final Fantasy VII Monopoly player.

"Delve into the evolving city of Midgar in search of the latest business opportunities. Perhaps you’ll buy up a string of plots for housing development for the people, or go industrial and build a Mako reactor plant." The official product description reads. "Trade with fellow players to secure key location and facilities and watch as savvy buyers secure a big pay day. A roll of a dice and a shrewd business mind will pave your way to success…Just watch out in case Shinra brings your empire crashing down!"

The game also includes a series of game pieces and other essentials that are Final Fantasy themed.

The game board includes:

  • 8 tokens
  • 28 Title Deed cards
  • 16 Chance cards
  • 16 Community Chest cards
  • Money pack
  • 32 houses
  • 12 hotels
  • 2 dice
  • Instructions

It sounds a lot more exciting than Monopoly really is because usually it just ends with someone flipping the board off the dinner table after 6 hours of playing and then all progress is lost and ruined and friendships are ended. You can pre-order the board game at Merchoid's official website for $49.99 if you're looking to add a new addition to your Final Fantasy collection.
