A village in Norway is making an appeal for a Pokestop with a new statue

A small village in Norway wants to be a part of Pokemon GO so badly, they erected a life-sized statue to appeal for a nearby Pokestop.

Regardless of where you might live, chances are you're not very far from a Pokestop. Most Pokemon GO players are even able to hit a few stops on their way to work (although, its NOT recommended!). It seems that in some parts of the world, while the game may be available, its still quite the odyssey to find a pokestop and participate as much as everyone else.

The sleepy village of Vindenes, Norway has been so inspired by the game that they've taken it upon themselves to construct a 3 meter high, 2,000 kg statue depicting a giant pokeball. The man in the video mentions that their villahe has no pokestops of their own and most players need to travel 3-5 miles away just to find one due to the village's lack of landmarks. They even went so far as to invite the prime minister to the dedicatio ceremony of the structure and they hope the attention will be enough of an appeal to Nianitic to finally give Vindenes the pokestop they deserve.
