group of individuals releases Tropico.org, the first independent website
about the upcoming PopTop game.
Paris,
France, April 06, 2000 – Tropico.org also called Tropico unofficial
website is released. Tropico is a computer game developed by PopTop
Software. It is a 3D building, strategy/simulation game for the PC and
Macintosh computers and Sega Dreamcast. "Tropico takes the addictive
building gameplay style of PopTop’s hugely successful Railroad Tycoon II and
adds a hearty helping of Latin American political intrigue to create an
absorbing gaming experience. Gathering of Developers will publish Tropico in
late 2000 for the PC and Macintosh computers and in early 2001 for Sega
Dreamcast" said PopTop in their Press Release.
Tropico.org
website was created in order to provide the gaming community a place to
share their ideas and comments about the game and find some very valuable
resources such as news, maps, tips, cheats, strategies, links and much more.
Tropico.org also offers the opportunity to subscribe to a monthly newsletter
in order to get the latest information about the game.
With
the help of the gaming community actors, Tropico.org intentions are to
become the leading place on the Internet for all Tropico gamers. Former
members of the WAW Group will create a new company which will become our
main partner in the first part of our development. They will provide us the
technology and the investments required to create a universal platform for
most strategy/simulation games.
Based
in Paris, France, Tropico.org was created by a website developer and an
Internet consultant, Gregoire Balasko-Orelio in 2000. The Tropico.org
