Absolute Drift is a game about pretty much what its name entails, drifting. While drifting certainly isn't anything new to the racing genre, never before has a game committed most of its resources to mastering the science behind it. Absolute Drift's main attraction is that it uses an approximated physics model to try and capture the realism behind the mechanics of drifting.
Absolute Drift is actually a year old game that originally released on PC in July of last year. It has developed a small, but dedicated following and currently boasts a Steam Positive user rating of 87%. The Zen Edition of the game will be a free update for PC players who already own the game, but will also be the version that debuts the game on PS4.
Absolute Drift: Zen Edition will come with several new features and they are as follows per a Forum post on the game's official Steam page:
- New “event challenges” that will extend the gameplay in the game’s 34 tracks by challenging players to complete increasingly difficult tasks.
- Drift Lines: a new challenge in events where you must drift through all the dots.
- 5 all new “Midnight Events.” These night-themed tracks are designed to challenge even the most experienced players.
- Replays and ghost cars. View your friends' runs or the best in the world!
- An all new tutorial and in-game guide to help new players ease into the game’s features and controls.
- The ability to choose different controller layouts.
- New input system for better controller compatibility.
Absolute Drift: Zen Edition releases on PlayStation 4 next week on August 16th, 2016.
