According to Konami, Kojima has not left the company, he is on “vacation”

It’s no surprise to hear that there are more Kojima and Konami news, these two guys have been going on for quite some time now. The latest debacle is that apparently October 9th was Kojima’s last day at Konami, according to The New Yorker.

When asked if this was true, Konami stated that Kojima has NOT left the company.  “Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work. Because the development time for console games is so long and fatigue builds up, it’s common for employees to take extended periods of time off when development is finished.”

After this statement, the author from The New Yorker, Simon Parkin, tweeted a picture of the party that was given to Kojima for his last day in the office. When Konami was asked about the goodbye party,  Konami replied, “We’re not sure what kind of thing this was.”

A source from Kotaku states that Kojima’s contract doesn’t officially end until December. Perhaps Konami is waiting until the end of the year to announce that Kojima is gone. Until then, stick with GameZone for further updates on the matter.
