The Ace Combat series has been around for a long time. Over 20 years of titles and the upcoming Ace Combat 7 celebrates this in a way that long-time fans can appreciate.

Producer Kazutoki Kono recently interviewed with Total Gaming, where he shared some insight on the game's progress. He was asked if Ace Combat 7 would be tailored to new gamers, or if old titles should be played first. Kono answered with:

“To reiterate what I said before, the game can be enjoyed by first time Ace Combat players. But for those who have played Ace Combat before, there would definitely be easter eggs that will help them enjoy the game on a whole different level.”

The series has been well known for being fun and exciting, as opposed to a strict flight sim. As such, the games have always strived to do something different each generation.
