Action dungeon-crawler Pangeon is out now on Steam

Fans of traditional dungeon crawlers and light action gaming can now enjoy a new entry into the genre with Pangeon. The rogue-like action game is available on Steam right now where it goes for 15% off at just $8.49. Check out the release trailer here!

The rogue-like genre is hardly underrepresented in the gaming landscape. Especially on the PC side of things. But that makes it only that easier to overlook certain gems. That’s exactly what Pangean looks to be. The retro aesthetic of low-fi blocky pixels might be a bit cliche at this point but the matter of fact is, there aren’t that many rogue-likes that focus on first-person melee combat.

In terms of setting, it’s the tried-and-true classic dungeon crawler affair, where the player has to traverse a monster-infested underground labyrinth of dungeons. Collect loot, buy and sell stuff, and of course, kill all monsters on your way. To help you achieve that, a variety of offensive gear like swords, bows, and magic staffs will aide you.

But there’s plenty here that helps Pangeon stand out. First of all, while the pixelated art style is reminiscing of rather old classics, the lighting system definitely is not. Magic spells illuminate dimly lit corridors, enhancing the atmosphere.
