Activision confirms Call of Duty: Mobile is coming to the West

Call of Duty’s smartphone and tablet spin-off game Call of Duty: Mobile is headed towards the west according to publisher Activision. While no concrete release date, it’s planned to come out later this year for iOS and Android. A public beta is also going to take place this Summer in select regions.

Call of Duty: Mobile already launched in China and Australia last Winter under the different title of Call of Duty: Legends of War, but now, it’s the turn for Western fans to get their bite-sized CoD fix on the go. Activision didn’t state when the game is coming out proper but we learn that a public beta is supposed to happen this Summer. Eager fans can pre-register right now for a chance to take part in the beta. Just head on over to CoD: Mobile’s website.

Call of Duty: Mobile is a new free-to-play game that brings together maps, modes, weapons, and characters from across the Call of Duty franchise, including Black Ops and the Modern Warfare series. Developed by Tencent’s award-winning Timi studio, exclusively for Android and iOS, the game features multiple game modes pitting players in head-to-head, competitive action as they test their skills against players all around the world.

n Call of Duty: Mobile, players will experience the fluid, first-person combat of Call of Duty, fighting head-to-head in fan-favorite modes such as Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy and Free-For-All, in iconic maps from the series such as Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked and more. Along the way, players will earn and unlock classic Call of Duty characters, weapons, scorestreaks, and other gear to equip and customize their loadouts as they battle to be among the best in the world.

Unsurprisingly for a mobile game, Call of Duty: Mobile is going to be a Free-to-Play title and focused heavily around multiplayer. It’s going to feature many of the iconic characters of the many Call of Duty games over the years and also beloved multiplayer maps as well. Of course, there will be a way to spend money in the game to unlock new characters, weapons, gear and more.
