Activision has responded to the early success of Disney Infinity by revealing the sales numbers from Skylanders Giants' first two weeks of launch.
Yesterday, Disney Interactive Studios announced that its new toys-to-life game, Disney Infinity, sold 294,000 starter pack units in its first two weeks in the U.S. The company said it's "very pleased" with the "strong start" of the series.
Now Activision claims Skylanders Giants, which debuted last year in October, sold over 500,000 combined starter packs and Portal Owner packs during its first two weeks on sale. However, that figure includes sales from Europe as well as the U.S. Disney did not reveal European sales numbers for Disney Infinity.
Regardless, Activision expects its figures to have "outsold" other "top action-figure properties" so far in 2013 in both the U.S. and Europe.
