Activision FAQ details Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare must be downloaded to play Modern Warfare Remastered

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's campaign will be available for PS4 players starting tomorrow, but the question still remains in the air, will players be able to play it without a copy of Infinite Warfare?

According to an official FAQ, no you will not be able to play without a copy of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. As we previously reported, it appears that you will only be able to launch Modern Warfare Remastered by selecting an option via Infinite Warfare's menu. Presumably, this is done to make sure you didn't buy a copy ala carte via eBay or some other place since the only way to obtain the remaster is by purchasing one of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's special editions that start at $79.99. You can view the full statement from Activision below.

"Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered come as a separate disc?

PlayStation 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game digital download that will be included in the Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition and Legacy Pro Edition on PlayStation 4. The digital download is redeemed via a voucher code on an insert in the box. The Infinite Warfare game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered. Internet connection is required.

Xbox One

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is included on the Infinite Warfare Xbox One disc (no voucher code required) in the Legacy Edition and Legacy Pro Edition of Infinite Warfare. Before Modern Warfare Remastered can be played, an additional download is required. The game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered. Internet connection is required.

Steam

A Steam key will be provided in the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare that will provide access to both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. Internet connection is required."

In other news, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's trophy list has popped up online and includes a mix of new and old trophies. We also learned that the Modern Warfare trilogy and Infinite Warfare take place within the same universe, thanks to a promotional poster.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered release on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
