Activision plans to debut new Call of Duty at E3 2016, doesn’t plan to have any show floor presence

E3 is one of the gaming industry's biggest trade shows. We typically see the newest games, innovations and games that are currently still in development, but E3 2016 seems to be shaking up a little bit.

Another big company won't be making their presence known on the show floor; this time the company is Activision. In a recent blog post, they stated that they will be bringing exclusive gameplay for Infinity Ward's next ambitious Call of Duty game, which is currently being rumored as Ghosts 2. However, they won't be present on the show floor, allowing all of the attendees to not get any hands on time with Activision titles.

Here's what they had to say:

In June, we’re going to be at E3 showcasing gameplay from Infinity Ward’s ambitious new game. We’re looking forward to sharing exciting new details about the next great Call of Duty game in partnership with our friends at PlayStation. We’re proud to be participating in this premier video game event but won’t have an Activision booth on the show floor.

We’re also going to be celebrating the community this fall at the Call of Duty Championship, marking the epic conclusion of the first season of the Call of Duty World League, and holding a major community event that will give fans special insight and access to the world of Call of Duty.

We have an exciting year ahead and have some great stuff planned that we can’t wait to share with you. Don’t be surprised to find us in some other unexpected places as well.

Electronic Arts (EA) has also announced plans to host hosting its own event prior to E3, in Los Angeles, California and London. Unlike E3, the EA Play event will allow fans to test out some of EA's biggest games (traditionally E3 does not allow fans, only industry workers and press). Of course, EA will still have some presence at E3 2016 to allow the press to get their hands on their games.

It is strange how some major publishers are dropping out while other companies like Bethesda and Take-Two decide to embrace the community and attend E3. But with EA and now Activision not attending E3 2016, does it make you wonder what else will change this year? Let us know in the comments below!
