Activision says that “There will always be Call of Duty games”

With the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 fast approaching, attention has turned to the back to the first-person shooter genre. While EA and DICE have gone back in time with the latest installment in the Battlefield franchise, Activision has decided to take Call of Duty into the future.

The Call of Duty franchise has covered historical wars, modern day wars, and future wars, so is there anything left for the series to wage war on? The answer is yes, at least if you ask Activision. As far as they are concerned, we will "always" have Call of Duty games.

"We've had Call of Duty games played on virtually every console for the last 14 years," Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick  told Marketplace (via GameSpot). "So the idea of having a game that centers around armed conflict through history…you never run out of ideas for Call of Duty games. There will always be Call of Duty games. And they'll be played on a variety of devices."

Basically, Kotick made it clear that future consoles and PCs will get Call of Duty games. The wheel will not stop turning.
