Addictive browser game Card Hunter coming to tablets

The popular free-to-play browser game Card Hunter is coming to tablets. This is exactly what players wanted.

“The number one request from the Card Hunter community has been, ‘When will this be on my tablet?’” Jon Chey, the founder and CEO of developer Blue Manchu, said in a press statement. “The game’s design screams out for a tablet experience.”

Blue Manchu is partnering with Seattle-based company DropForge Games to bring the web experience to tablet devices. Card Hunter merges fantasy role-playing with a collectible-card game. Chey, who started the studio, previously worked at BioShock developer Irrational Games.

“We think card games will be huge,” said David Bluhm, the CEO of DropForge. “And we aim to bring a new, exciting hybrid game genre to more than 200 million tablets.”

Neither company announced a release date for the mobile version, but it's safe to assume it will remain free-to-play.
