Adobe Flash Goes 3D

Enjoy flash-based games, but wish that developers would make them more immersive? How about taking the games out of your usual 2D dimension and creating a full 3D game world that uses fragment shaders, openGL, direct3d, z-buffering, cube textures and maps without killing your computer? Well, that wish may happen sooner rather than later if Adobe has anything to say about it.

With universal support across both PCs and Macs, and even mobile devices, this could easily be a game changer for indy developers as it runs using nothing more than a single new plugin rather than having to go through various 3D web technologies and plugins. The product’s current codename is “Molehill” and is currently on target for release sometime in 2011.
