Adventure Time Open-World Game Announced For 2018

Adventure Time isn’t new to the video game world, having a number of games launch in the past. But the latest announcement seems to be quite a bit bigger. We learned today that the latest Adventure Time game will be an open-world adventure published by Bandai Namco.

Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion takes to the open sea in an open-world pirate story featuring a number of fan-favorites. Finn, Jake, Marceline, and BMO will explore various kingdoms in the iconic Land of Ooo. The different lands have been “cut off from each other” by a flood. Hence the pirate motif! Finn and Jake take to the sea in their own ship and recruit other characters to be part of their motley crew.

Bandai Namco hasn’t shared much in the way of a plot yet, but the game will feature an “original” story, making it an adventure of its own. They have mentioned “tactical combat” and a progression system for each hero. Despite the lack of details released, we do have some screenshots on page two.

Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion releases on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2018. Developer Outright Games is actually holding a competition to name Finn and Jake’s ship in the game on their Facebook Page.
