After 40 years it turns out that Han Solo might not be his real name after all

What?!

han solo

It's been exactly 40 years since Star Wars came out and shocked the world, and for 40 years enthusiasts has been dressing up as scruffy looking nerf herders, but now every fan of Han Solo will get their world turned upside down because that is not his real name!

That's right, Han Solo was "originally" not named Han Solo, at least according to Disney CEO Bob Iger during a special USC lecture, who revealed some details on what fans can expect in the upcoming spin-off film on Solo. Iger confirmed that the film will show a younger Solo, between the age of 18 to 24, and will show the event leading up to him acquiring the Millenium Falcon and meeting him best Wookiee friend.

"That picks up with Han Solo when he was 18 years old and takes him through when he was 24. There are a few significant things that happen in Han Solo’s life, like acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookiee that will happen in this film. But you will also discover how he got his name."

It sure seems like Han Solo was called something else back in the day, but it could also mean how he got his name in a more figurative sense like he got or made a name for himself as a smuggler.

Until the movie releases sometime in 2018, we will just have to wait and see if one of the actors spills the beans on what Han Solo's true identity is. We will just have to pray that it isn't something with "Skywalker" because that is a way too popular name in the galaxy far far away.

In other Star Wars news, the Han Solo spin-off film will be a bit different than the other films and will be more of a sci-fi western and Woody Harrelson will play Garris Shrike, the mentor of young Solo who will be a bit of a criminal and according to him, it will be the best Star Wars movie yet.

The student of Garris Shrike, Han Solo, will be played by  Alden Ehrenreich and his partner in crime, Lando Calrissian, will be played by Donald Glover. The big furry Wookiee costume will be worn by Joonas Suotamo, the same guy who wore it in Star Wars VII. Emilia Clarke will also appear in the film, though the extent of her role has still not been revealed. But considering that the upcoming Han Solo film will feature Garris Shrike from the book "The Paradise Snare" it is plausible that Clarke will play Bria Tharen, the love interest of Solo in the Han Solo trilogy books.
