Call of Duty: Black Ops officially went backwards compatible yesterday, making the Xbox 360 available on the Xbox One. Xbox owners had been pining for classic Call of Duty games to be available on the Xbox One ever since Microsoft allowed users to vote for their most wanted backwards compatible games.
Sales for Call of Duty: Black Ops on Amazon have somewhat revealed just how much people wanted to play the game on their Xbox One. Since the game has gone backward compatible sales for Black Ops have gone up by a total of 13,400% on Amazon UK, according to VideoGamer. In the US, Black Ops has seen around a 3,000% increase in sales.
None of this accounts for digital purchases via Xbox.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops going backward compatible, there's hope for the BioShock series, Halo Wars and Skate 3 – three games that were previously teased alongside Black Ops for backwards compatibility. At the time, Microsoft called the tease an accidental email, but with one of the games being made available it definitely got us thinking.
