After being delayed from its 2017 release window, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition once again has a release date, and it is soon. Microsoft announced earlier today that the game would release on February 20th, 2018.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition brings a ton of improvements that Microsoft says will make it “the best possible version” of the game ever. These updates include an updated visuals, a new UI, attack-move mechanics, control groups, an idle villagers button (thank god!), and more modern online multiplayer features.
The soundtrack for the game has been completely re-done as a new orchestral score, and multiplayer can now be done through Xbox Live. The campaign and scenario editor has also been updated, as players will be able to create their own content and share them through the official Age of Empires website.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will be sold through the Windows 10 Store and retail for $19.99. Wololo my friends, it’s almost upon us.
