Wolololo! At long last, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is just under a month away, and developer Forgotten Empires has launched the game’s multiplayer-only Closed Beta to insiders. While it may be a “Closed” Beta, getting in is relatively painless.
The first thing you need is an Xbox Live account since the game is a Windows 10 exclusive and is only playable through the Microsoft Store. Once you’ve done that, head over here to complete the application.
Once you get the congratulatory email on getting into the Closed Beta, you’ll need to download the Xbox Insider Hub app on your Windows 10 machine. After signing in with your Xbox Live account, do the following.
It should be reiterated that this is a multiplayer-only Beta, meaning you can only play the game with or against other people. There is no way to play against bots, so you’ll just have to learn via trial by fire.
