Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reveals Robbie Reyes origin came from another Ghost Rider

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's current season is subtitled "Ghost Rider" and we've seen a lot of him in action so far. The show uses the Robbie Reyes version of the Rider, which was first revealed at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. The one thing we haven't seen yet, is how exactly he came to be the Rider.

That all changed in last night's 6th episode, The Good Samaritan. Robbie finally reveals to his brother how he came to get his powers. Their uncle worked at Momentum Energy Labs and discovered an experiment that could have deadly consequences. Fellow scientists hired gang members to kill him, but unfortunately Robbie and his brother took the car that night. A car crash ensued, seeing Robbie get show and ejected from the car. While in the air, he begged for anyone and offered anything for a chance to save his brother. Robbie than hit the ground, died and saw nothing but blackness before hearing a voice.

It asked him "Do you want a second chance? Do you want to punish those that hurt my brother? Do you want to avenge your own death? I answered yes, more than anything yes". A "good samaritan" then arrives on a motorcycle, walks over to Robbie and brings him back to life. The samaritan in question is shown as another Ghost Rider, aka Johnny Blaze. It was a scene that hit social media on fire as it happened among fans of the franchise and was a pretty interesting reveal.

In the comics, Blaze is the one who helps Robbie Reyes control the spirit of the Rider inside of him, and he's been known to pass his powers to others before. The only other Ghost Rider with a motorcycle is Danny Ketch, who is Johnny's brother and takes over for Johnny for a while after him. Although it's possible it could be him since we have no official confirmation yet, it wouldn't make sense to have Ketch over Blaze considering the connections with the universe, as well as the carnival easter egg already introduced in a previous episode.

The full clip can be seen above, but unfortunately Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. does not return for one month until November 29th for its mid-season break.
