Akaneiro: Demon Hunters launch moved to Jan. 31 at the earliest

American McGee's Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Kickstarter is halfway to its goal of $200,000 with eight days remaining.

Now, due to bug fixes and additional tuning, developer Spicy Horse Games is moving the launch date from today to January 31 for Kongregate and the official website and February 28 for Steam. Why the big delay for the latter version? Integration and testing is taking longer than expected, Spicy Horse said, but the Chinese New Year is coming up, too.

"We're being extra cautious about launch timing to ensure a balanced and bug-free experience," wrote McGee.

Spicy Horse is unveiling new rewards in forthcoming updates — additional Akaneiro artwork, virtual goods, and physical items from McGee's previous game Alice: Madness Returns.
