Alan Wake developer Remedy is working on two new games

The developers of Alan Wake and Quantum Break are working on not one, but two new games, none of which are a new Alan Wake game.

The Finnish developer Remedy has come out with a statement fancily named "State of the Studio" where they show what the future holds for Remedy, and it seems that two new games is what the future holds and at least one of them looks like fresh and new IP.

Remedy is aware of the fact that they haven't been the best at putting out games lately and Head of Communications, Thomas Puha, said

"As for the future, we have some very exciting news to share. Moving forward, we want to create more games and hopefully get them out more often. In order to achieve this, Remedy has expanded into two game development teams."

Puha also let fans know that there are two new Remedy titles in the works, though one is still in the concept stage and might not see the light of day for a long time. They have also learnt from past mistakes in announcing games too early and fans should not expect Remedy to make an appearance at E3 or Gamescom this year, they will announce the games when they are ready.

"For a while now already, we’ve been developing a brand new Remedy game with a new partner. Our second team is working on an early concept, which will turn into another Remedy game sometime in the future.

We can’t wait to show and tell your more about these new projects, but if there’s anything we’ve learned from the past, it’s that we should have the patience to announce games when they’re ready enough. So don’t expect us take the stage at E3 or gamescom this year."

Remedy was also clear on the fact that "neither of the two projects currently in development is an Alan Wake game", something that fans of the series has been waiting for. Though it was nice of them to let the fans know to not get their hopes up. But there is still hope since Remedy is "exploring opportunities in other mediums to tell more Alan Wake stories." Who knows, maybe that means an actual Alan Wake book, or maybe even a movie about Alan Wake.
