Alien: Isolation, SEGA and Creative Assembly's new first-person survival game based on the Alien(s) film franchise, will run in 1080p on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The news was confirmed by developer Creative Assembly through the game's official twitter account.
Now whether or not it will run in native 1080p is another question entirely — one which Creative Assembly didn't specify, but addressed when pressed for answer.
"Right now, we're definitely aiming for native 1080p :)," they said in a follow-up tweet.
There's been a growing emphasis on game resolution since the launch of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, though most of the desire for 1080p seems to be for chest-thumping fanboys. Sure, native 1080p is wished for, but I don't belive upscaling — as Infinity Ward did with Ghosts on Xbox One — is as imperative as some would have you believe.
Alien: Isolation is coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC in late 2014.
