All of the Assassin’s Creed movie’s historical scenes are in Spanish

The Assassin's Creed movie is just a few months away and we don't know too much about the movie aside from a few details revealed in the trailer we saw earlier this year and a video that shows a real leap of faith stunt on the set of the film. Total Film magazine is looking to give us some new details with their new cover story. One of the biggest details to come out of the magazine issue is the fact that all the scenes set in the past when Michael Fassbender's character is in the animus are shot in Spanish. That's right, all the characters will be speaking in Spanish when we are seeing the assassin's in action. The film is set in Spain so it makes sense but typically films would just have everyone speak English for the sake of convenience.

“I just love the fact [production company] New Regency embraced it,” director Justin Kurzel explains in the new issue of Total Film magazine. “We did play around with English as well, but it was really obvious what you wanted as soon as you went back and started speaking beautiful Spanish. It really adds an exoticness and richness to the film.”

While it does add a new layer of immersion and uniqueness to the film, it'll be interesting to see how audience react to having to read subtitles through a large portion of the film.

Assassin's Creed is set to release December 21st, 2016.
