All the Ghost Recon: Wildlands PvP open beta details

When the Ghosts in Ghost Recon: Wildlands get tired of wrecking havoc across Bolivia, taking down the Santa Blanca cartel, Unidad, and who ever else got in the way, they want something else to do, and luckily there is some sweet PvP action! The beta dates for this sweet PvP action have been revealed by Ubisoft.

The fact that Ghost Recon: Wildlands would be getting both a PvP mode and a beta for it has already been know for a while, but now Ubisoft has revealed when this beta will take place and what will be in it. The open beta for the new PvP mode called Ghost War will be available on all platforms from September 21 through September 25 while preloading will be available starting September 19. The full Ghost War mode will be released as a free update later this fall.

The matches in the Ghost War Open Beta will be a 4v4 deathmatch, no respawns, in a "best of three" format. The beta will bring five of the eight maps currently planned for Ghost War and will allow players to pick from six of the twelve classes which will be spread across the three main categories, Assault, Marksman, and Support. The classes are as follows:

Assault classes: Tank, heavy armored, more health, comes with a light machine gun. Pointman, can not "be disrupted in any way", good for flanking.

Support classes: Scout, comes equipped with drones to spot enemies with. Artillery, does what it sounds like, can call in mortar strikes.

Marksman classes: Enforcer, comes with a big light machine gun, useful for suppression. Sniper, it snipes, simple as that.

Each class will also be somewhat customizable with guns and perks, allowing players to mix and match what suits them and their team the best. Each map will also feature a recon tower and capture it will reveal the whole enemy team's position. Something that will also reveal players' position is gunfire, each gun will create something Ubisoft calls "a noise marker" and the bigger the gun the bigger the marker, something that will hopefully stop people from camping too much.

Ghost War even comes with a new mechanic for players to account for, the suppression mechanic. This new mechanic will blur players' screens whilst someone is suppressing them and for them to regain playable unblurred screen they either need to move or wait for the barrage to end. So basically, when someone if firing a whole lot of hot lead at you your screen will blur forcing you to either wait it out or relocate.

In short: The PvP beta will go from September 21 through September 25. Ghost War will come with a 4v4 no respawn best of three deathmatch mode. Five of the eight maps will be in the beta. Six of the twelve classes will be playable.
