“Amazing Games” and “Ambitious Projects” coming to PS4 in 2017, say Sony and Bloodborne Dev

After the PlayStation Slim, Pro and PlayStation VR, Sony Exec says they will pay off in 2017

In 2016, PlayStation has focused pretty heavily on hardware. The PlayStation Slim, PlayStation Pro and the PlayStation VR were all released this year. But there hasn't been an equal amount of push for software. These matters are currently being addressed.

PlayStation Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida says that fans should expect amazing sofware to be released in 2017 to take advantage of the bulletpoint list of hardware released at the end of 2016. In an interview with 4Gamer, translated by DualShockers, we see that a number of developers were interviewed for 4Gamers Year-end interview. One of these developers was Teruyuki Toriyama of FromSoftware, the producer of Bloodborne . Toriyama mentioned his team was working on "ambitious titles" and also planning new games at the same time. It's too soon to tell if this was a hint at Bloodborne 2 or just another title from the successful developers, but it's exciting nonetheless to hear them working on something new.

Currently in development for PlayStation 4, we have God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Horizon: Zero DawnConsidering the timing of this interview and the heavy focus PlayStation has on these impending games, it's likely we'll see features from this new hardware being used in these titles. But only time will tell.
