Last month, Sony announced an official price drop for the PlayStation 4. Just in time for the holidays, the price cut makes the two-year-old console cheaper (in most cases) by $50.
With the newly announced price, the cheapest we've seen for a new PS4 bundle is around $349.99 for either the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 Bundle or the Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle. But now, Amazon is offering a promotion that brings the PS4 down to what I believe is the cheapest price we've seen yet.
A new deal exclusive to Amazon Prime members applies a $25 discount at checkout, bringing the cost of the normally $349 Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 bundle to just $324. You even get free two-day shipping; but, of course, with taxes the total ends up around $345. Unfortunately, it looks like the deal is only valid for The Nathan Drake Collection bundle. We tried with Star Wars Battlefront and it was regular price.
While I've seen GameStop sell PS4's for as low as $319.99, those are usually the pre-owned refurbished models. This Amazon offer is for a brand new system.
It's unclear how long the discount will last for, but if you're a Prime member looking to upgrade to the current-gen console, now might be your chance. Of course, you could wait a few more weeks for Black Friday where I'm sure we'll get more attractive discounts like this. In any case, this could be a look at how low retailers might go to move consoles this holiday season.
