As if Amazon Prime wasn't a good enough deal already, the pot just got a little sweeter. With Amazon's new "Streaming Partners Program", Prime members can add subscription programming for an added fee to their Prime video service. Essentially, it's a la carte, unbundled programming where you choose what you want to pay for.
The Streaming Partners Program is headlined by Showtime (Homeland, Ray Donovan) and Starz (Ash vs Evil Dead, Spartacus). Other services offered are Lifetime Movie Club, AMC's Shudder and SundanceNow, Comedy Centrail's Standup+, Acorn TV, Dramafever, Dove Channel, IndieFlix, and Ring TV Boxing. Prime members will be charged month-to-month for their add-ons.
If you're wondering what the pricing for some of these subcriptions are, Showtime can be had for $8.99 a month, which is cheaper than the $10.99 when subscribing through Google Play or iTunes.
Prime Memebers will be able to access these add-on subscriptions via Amazon's video app, which is available on Android, Kindle Fire, Roku, Fire TV and iOS, as well as other supported devices. If you use Chromecast or other stand-alone apps, you can use your Amazon credentials to log into thosse stand-alone apps.
