Amnesia: Collection announced for PS4

Sony gamers will be getting one of the scariest games ever made

Horror games are gradually making a comeback, and they owe a lot of that to a little game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent. In a time when major horror franchises like Resident Evil and Dead Space were pushing action over fear, Amnesia took all of that away and was something of a hard reset for the genre. Players were unable to defend themselves and were forced to contend with a fear of the dark, which if you've played any horror game, darkness is pretty much everywhere.

Developer Frictional Games revealed Amnesia: Collection for PlayStation 4. It is a three-game package consisting of the original game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, its follow-up, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and a third, lesser known entry called Amnesia: Justine. Justine is a shorter game consisting of a series of trials taking inspiration from the movie, Saw.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent originally release back in 2011 as a PC exclusive, and the series has remained that way until now. There is currently no indication of the game coming to Xbox One, but Creative Director, Thomas Grip says that "deals either fell through or we simply didn’t have time" in the years since the game released as reasons why a console version was not possible until now.

Therefore, there is a possibility that an Xbox One version could be in the plans, and that it's just a matter of working out the details to get it done.

Amnesia: Collection will release digitally on PlayStation 4 on November 22nd, 2016.
