Analysts predict ‘Nintendo Switch Mini’ for 2019

The Nintendo Switch released last month and has seen some fairly good sales. In fact, the Switch beat out the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in sales last month! Even though the Switch still has room to grow and establish itself in the gaming ecosystem, analysts are already suggesting that Nintendo could move forward with another version of the Switch.

Citigroup Inc. analysts, Minami Munakata, Kota Ezawa and Alicia Yap, are predicting that Nintendo will push out a 'mini Switch' in 2019 because children can't handle the size of the device.

“Although the Nintendo Switch can be used as a handheld device, we think smaller children could struggle to use it comfortably in that format due to its size and weight,” the Citigroup Inc. analysts wrote in a report. “Accordingly, we think Nintendo will launch a lighter, dedicated handheld version of the Switch, possibly to be called the Switch Mini.”
