Back in September, Rovio Entertainment brought Angry Birds to Xbox 360, PS3, and 3DS. With this transition to consoles having seen success — over one million units sold — Rovio announced it will expand its reach to Nintendo's Wii and Wii U consoles. Angry Birds Trilogy — a combination of Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio — will become available on Nintendo's consoles in 2013.
“Angry Birds' proven formula for fun and addicting gameplay translated perfectly to the big screen, and the consumer response has been overwhelming,” said Jennifer Mirabelli, VP of Sales and Marketing for Activision Publishing, Inc.
Angry Birds Trilogy offers new content, levels, and features including new animations and interactive backgrounds through the 700-plus levels. The recently released DLC pack, Angry Birds Trilogy: Anger Management, added even more content with 130 puzzles.
“The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re excited to release this version to fans," added Rovio's EVP of Games, Petri Järvilehto. Rovio didn't say exactly how the Wii U's gamepad will be utilized, but I imagine you'll aim on the controller and see the action performed on the big screen.
